My philosophy is simple: I believe that the human body can heal itself.  I try and facilitate that natural healing process by listening to and understanding each client's particular needs by working collaboratively to develop an individualized treatment plan that enhances your experience. Whether it is through pure relaxation techniques, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, breathing or exercises at home, we will be working together to help you optimize your health and well-being.

About Me: I was born and raised in northern California and am the daughter of two geologists.    I have lived in California, Kansas, Pennsylvania, Florida and Georgia.  I have learned a lot about myself over the years and yearned for a more simple, non-corporate, lifestyle.  I discovered yoga in 2001 and was an apprentice at a studio for 2 years when I discovered massage therapy.  I attended Rising Spirit Institute of Natural Health, in Atlanta, GA and graduated with honors in 2004.  I have worked in a chiropractic office, private practice, and an office setting.  I am passionate about massage therapy and helping people feel better.

I am a single mother to a wonderful teenager who I am proud to call mine.  We relocated from Georgia after 24 years to the Back Mountain to be closer to family in July 2024.  Beyond massage, I love the outdoors, playing tennis, working in my yard, sitting by the fire, hiking, and spending time with my family.  I am a lover of all animals and have a dog and cat and am an avid volunteer in animal rescue.

Zora, Service Dog

Zora's birthday is Nov 3, 2020.  She was a "foster fail" from Shelters and Shelves Rescue in Smyrna, Georgia.  She has overcome a lot of trauma and in the process has become an amazing service dog (as well as a therapy and emotional support dog!).  I have been her handler since 2023 and have trained her for Autism Assistance.  Autism Assistance dogs provide invaluable help to individuals on the autism spectrum by enhancing social interaction, emotional regulation, and safety.

Typical tasks for Zora include:

*Interrupting repetitive behaviors (e.g. tapping, picking, scratching)

*Alerting to self-injurious behaviors

*Providing a social bridge in conversations or public interactions

*Interrupting sensory overload

*Guiding the individual away from overwhelming stimuli

*Providing comfort during transitions in routine

*Assisting with focus and attention in learning environments

*Helping navigate public spaces safely

Zora is not trained for the tasks below.  However, these are other ways Autism Assistance Service Dogs can help someone with Autism:

*Providing deep pressure therapy during meltdowns

*Tracking and locating individuals who may wander
